Chuy's is a sports bar chain, so I doubt they serve waffles. They might, though. They were more likely having wings, burgers, and beers. Alcohol may well have been a factor in this.
And I'm 100% in agreement with you on the PGN and the final position! Who knows, maybe the guy who got stabbed could have won a brilliancy prize and that's what pissed his opponent off. We'll never know.
I take my chess somewhat seriously, although I'm really just a casual player. I don't like when I lose, but this guy took things a bit too far IMO:
