Move notifications

Sometimes I get notified via email when its my move in a game, and sometimes not.   Anyone else experience this?

Same here.

I am experiencing the same thing.  I sent an email suggesting an option where the player could turn on or off an email notification.  I log in each day, so I do not need an email to notify me of an opponent's move.  Others may prefer an email notice.

 We should have an option.

actually you can change that by go to the "change alerts", then you can change the setting there

mee ttooooo

what is up with that?

erik

what's up with that is that people don't read :)

at the bottom of the email it says "don't want to get more emails?"

and it takes you here: http://www.chess.com/home/alerts.html

I still don't understand erik ...,

- I've got my notification setup to notify me by email when its my turn in any game.

- I want to be notified by email when its my turn in any game

- Sometimes I get notified and sometimes I don't.

we only send ONE email per login. that way you don't get TONS of email. you probably dont get it if you have very few games going and they moved either while you were online or right after you log off. we have a very difficult balance trying to send the right amount of email :)

okay thanks for clarifying erik, that makes sense.   And since I'm not a paying member yet I feel lucky to have access to this great site at all.   Thanks!

"We have a very difficult balance trying to send the right amount of email." Why not give the user a range of settings and let the user determine when a notification is sent? When I'm working, I would like to get an email every time my opponent moves, since I can't monitor the board continuously. This would be especially helpful if my opponent is taking a long time between moves, anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.

Go into settings, notifications and change e-mail notifications.
