I know how to play chess and everything, and I can play well and all, but I don't know the cooridinates or grid language or what ever people keep using to explain moves. Of coarse Nd4 means Knight to "d4" on the board, right? But then i see like an "x" or a "+". what do those mean? Also, i see Nd4 f5 or something like that. Could someone please explain this to me?

well ...    +  means check  x means takes or capture   B= Bishop N=knight K=King R=Rook pawns as u know is represented by the move it makes ie e4 or  e2 - e4

this ( - ) means to or go from one place to another   # means checkmate +- means white has a large advantage  ( -+ ) means the same thing but for black( +_ ) means white with small advantage usualy positional and visa versa for black let me know if u want anymore explanation, or better still look it up in a book or in the rules on this site ok...

Nd4 f5 means knight on d4 goes to f5 square ok

+ means check, x means a capture on that square. So exd4 would mean a pawn capture on d4 I beleive. Nxd4 would be knight take d4. # means checkmate, ! means a good move, !! means a very good often game winning move, ? is a doubtful or bad move, ?! is a surpising and perhaps good move. Q=queen, N=knigh, pawn=no letter, R=Rook, B=bishop, K=king. Anything else?

also don't forget about pawn promotion. e8=Q for example for promotion to queen right?
CristianoRonaldosuuu

k=king q=queen r=rook n=knight (because king is k) b=bishop pawn has no number coz there useless
x means u take an opponents piece u write it with piece's letter (that u took with) first followed by x and the cords that the piece took on. Pawns are written that instead of the pieces letter it is the file that they start on letter
+ is when an opponents piece checks your king and # is checkmate they are both put at the end of the cords
short castles is O-O and long castles is O-O-O because in short the rook moves twice (for the 2 O's) and the rook moves 3 times for the 3 O's.
sorry if i miss anything but i think i got eerything
