Nothing is impossible
My dream is to beat Magnus Carlsen. I will update this thread in 10-15 years
Magnus retired from chess. You should try to beat Ding Liren. He knows Mao Zedong tactics. I once trained with a janitor for Mao. Strong mopper!!!
I don't think he retired from chess, only from world championships.
Anyway, I believe in 15 years there will be more players who will be even better and higher rated.
I just want to beat whoever is rank number 1. But I have to work my way up.
I need to be grandmaster first and beat the 2600 lower end guys, then i can start making my moves on the elite of the elite
Do you want me to train to you become GM? I am not doing much these days. I can teach you how to trap Carlsen in a bongcloud mating pattern. I invented it 2 weeks ago. Carlsen doesn't know about it yet.
Sure. Im still new to chess though
I know its not easy and i have to put in the work to be a Gm. Right now im just learning all the pieces and how they move.
Being a GM starts with the first step
Warherd doesn't understand what it makes to become a GM, but I see great things in you davidkimchi. You know the way of the hobnobbers.

My name is David Kimchi and I am 28 years old. I have played chess a few times in high school but never really cared much about it, until recently.
I started watching Derren Brown's video of him playing against 9 chess masters at one time and winning. Although he kind of cheated, it was still intriguing so I decided to read more about chess and the greatest chess players of all time.
I have Magnus Carlsen as the 2nd greatest of all time, but i think in a few years he will be number 1 greatest. My goal is to beat him in chess one day. Obviously it won't happen any time soon, but I am willing to put in the work.
I know i will be mocked, ridiculed and hated on for suggesting I can possibly beat the GOAT chess player in the future, but thats fine. No one thought Anthony Joshua could be beaten, or even Mike Tyson, but these type of miracles happen all the time, given the other person works extraordinarily hard.
Any advice on how I can eventually beat Magnus Carlsen is welcome. I believe in 10-15 years, he will still be great but no longer in his prime. I have ordered some chess books on ebay and will watch lots of YouTube videos and immerse myself in the game.
I will work hard, and prove to you nothing is impossible. I will be sure to bump this in 10-15 years
wow ok, there's a lot of spirit here, i can tell. goodluck to you pal, its gonna be a long journey to actually beat magnus carlsen. ive been playing chess for about 5 years, and im still quite an average player so best of luck cause you'll need it mate.

Thanks. Yeah I know it will be a long and tough journey. But i will break it down in simpler steps, such as getting CM, IM, FM, GM high elo 2600+ etc.
One goal at a time
