I have psychotic mental disabilities combined with heavy drug use and a general distaste for board games.
my mind is blown that any chess player could be below a 1300

I was surprised once when someone stated that the average rating on this site is about 1300. Not sure what time controls that was for, but still.

seriously makes me wonder how any chess player could legit be under 1300 rating unless they are a young child.
if you have played chess longer than 3 months, you should at least be a 1300. I was already a 1400 when I was about 6 or 7 years old, and I see some players here in chess.com barely struggling to reach 1300.
are some people just naturally good at chess with high IQ? do you guys practice effeciently? what is stoping you from being a 1300 and higher?
Is this thread about making youself feel better about yourself? By the way... it is "Kasparov", not "Kasporov".

well alot of people make chess.com accounts for a little bit, then they quit & never return so it make affect the averages a little bit.

I'm just curious on what goes inside the minds of a sub 1300 rated player.
and thank you captain obvious, the real kasparov name was already taken by soemone else, so i used this. try again :)

Kasporov Jr i think i played you at nationals when i was like 6.

I'm sure than an IM would wonder the same thing of you being only a Class B player in USCF.

There is a guy at my chess club, thats been playing for over 20 years at the club and his rating is only 900ish.

wasted 20 years , unless he is mentally challenged, being a 900 after playing years of ches is extremely sad.

Folks have different talents and different abilities. Many years ago when I was in high school (the dinosaurs roamed the earth), I went through the same curriculum as was taught in college for Calc 1, 2 and 3 and it was pretty easy for me (and I was double promoted so was younger than the rest of my class)
I took violin in college becuae I like the instrument. After two semesters it was obvious that I would never, ever, ever, ever be any good at it despite my best efforts. It is not something I had a talent for.
Different talents, different people. Nothing to be proud of or ashamed of.

Don't knock it. Many people actually do play chess just for the fun of it.

Thats kinda depressing. Playing for 20 years he must have a deep love for the game but there must be some mental health issue holding him back. Or hes just a moron that never studys lol!

I think Kasporov_Jr already addressed this.

If you were 1400 at 6 or 7 then you must suck at chess to be Sub 2000 many years later.
obviously I do not play competively anymore, I stopped playing serious after I finished elementary. 1870 was my peak rating 4th grade
and I'm still higher rated than you have ever been in your life
