Do not take help from others is a trash rule

Like why cant we take help from others are they also engines??

They are just spreading their knowledge

Like once I took help from my friend and I horribly lost that match

So this rule is trash

.

The Intent is that you're supposed to choose your move but can't directly ask someone else (which normally would be someone stronger). Even with static resources, you have to end up making a choice of move.

wait so you can literally use an analysis while playing isn't that cheating?

The whole idea is that daily chess is like correspondence chess. Since it's not live, it's ok to check out opening databases. Realistically, no one's getting checkmated in the opening, anyway

Yes but when does it become engine based???

It's the difference between something you can study and something you can't.

Opening tablebases are useful because the opening is always the same.

Engines are useful because they work for EVERY position. That's more OP, wouldn't you say?

Yes i know but what is stopping cheaters from using the engine even if its just a couple of moves more

Because it's against the rules? Chess.com cheat detection? Morals?

Yes i know but my point is that it makes chess.com cheat detection harder in daily games compared to other formats.

7thDuckz

Cheating's just a big problem to begin with.

The whole point of daily chess is to use analysis, as long as you analyze using only your own brain and not some software. Your rating of 1164 is really good btw, if you aren't using the analysis board at all. You could probably gain 500 elo by using it.

Ok, so I don't do this, but how exactly will they know if we're using help from others? It's not like they're stalking everything we do... This rule doesn't make sense at all lol

GM_PalMarkIsBack

we kinda dont need this cause we arlreadz know this

...in the opening? No one's going to be blundering in the opening, and I'm sure you know opening tablebases don't usually help after move 5-6
