Longer time controls = standard
Shorter time controls = blitz
Blitz rating is your rating for when you play drunk, in other words, blitzed out of your mind, and standard rating is for when you're sober.
There are excellent chess players who play blitz.
There are terrible chess players who play blitz.
Personally, I think it is better to refrain from speed chess until one is competent at longer clock times.
That's just an opinion. I happen to think that skill should be developed before speed.
But there are zillions of blitz and bullet players who would disagree with me.
Screw them.
Hey...put down the axes. I just make a joke.
Please anyone, whats the difference between blitz rating and standard rating?
