thank you karl42 i was posting the last message at broze not you.If members try the 30 programs an 13 chess engines an tweak them like fritz 5.32 you need to add a opening book i used the rybka turk blitz book.chess base light 2007 demo limitation is 32500 games perdata base however i have downloaded several smaller bases so i now have about 250000 pgn games on it.Do all these downloads kike me an save your hard earned money for oyher goodies as there is not much you cannot do with these free programs.

CHESSBASE FRITZ 2.51 A dos program i should have put it in the top 30.Like chess genuis it loads of win xp into dos ok on my computer.

i like gal board sa you can twist the 3d board to any view point you wish if only it was not such a pain in the a to make a move but not to bad after i got used to it still it would be hard to play a 3min game on it.

To me the Delfi gui 2.5d is ground breaking almost like playing on a real chessboard great to warm up on as playing 2d so much throws me off for the first game or two of blitz at my loal mc donalds fast food rest. on suday afternoons.The board is so good i may have to break my rule an pay for the full strength up grade.

I still have a job however with everyting going nuts with the economy this year i will not buy much chess stuff so about 30 days ago i started to download free chess programs an boy was i shocked by how much great free stuff there is  an think about this when you download for instance  portable winboard x with rybka 2.2n2p 32bit on a single cpu rated 2988 at 5 min blitz with a naminov endgame table base an the rybka performance bin opening book that just two years ago you would have paid about 100 dollars for it.Hey for the average player like me to spar against a almost 3000 program is all you will ever need.

hey guys your poor old boy try'd todownload chess cat but it wishs for me to load its chess font however for now i have not been able to pull up the file to do it.i plan to google chess cat see if ican find the homepage.however of the about 90 programs ihave downloaded i avgerage one of 9 which drive you nuts so you have to give up hope chess cat is not one of these 10 % of bougas downloads.

Arena 2.0 IS out go to arena chess  then to downloads download the aren 2.0 18 mb preloaded package what a good x mas present.

I was able to get chess cat to load an added a crafty engine to it.It loaded a file of about 30000 pgn games in about 30 sec not to bad worth downloadihg but was a paiin trhe a ==s at fist to get to load.
