Name of pawns. Harry needs to go....

check out the 'GingerGM' Simon Williams youtube videos. He names all his pawns and talks to them as he pushes them up the board. Harry is probably his favourite. 😂

Yes, those are the names!  I thought I heard Simon once calling the f-pawn as "Frodo", but I may be mistaken.

All these boy pawns become queens when they are succesfull...Derrick becomes Dorothy

Can't really have 'Arry and Harry.

I suspect the "a" pawn is really Albert.

Also there is a lack of ladies.  So the "d" pawn is now Doreen and the "e" pawn Edna.

Harry remains the universal favourite.

As long as we're being egalitarian here, the queenside pawns should all be female. Abbie, Betty, Carrie, and Debbie on the queenside. Eddie, Freddie, Gary, and Harry on the kingside.

But wait, do the black and white pawns need to have identical names? Are they mirror image clones with different coats of paint?

Eddie the nasty pawn who often opens the game and is often one of the early casualties...Oh Eddie..

How about a list of ghetto names for the pawns ?

How about a list of posh names for the pawns? Gideon must be there.

Anthea, Benedict,Charlotte,Delphine,Elizabeth,Frederick,George,Hyacinth

or footballers....

...or elements if the periodic table:

Argon,Boron,Carbon,Dysprosium,Erbium,Fluoride (boo),Gallium and Hydrogen.
