Name this knight

So I found out to my surprise the other day that my wooden chess set has a name: it's a french Lardy chess set. That's cool, but now I want to be able to identify the set my parents had when I was a kid, as I really liked the knight design compared to some of the 'zombie' knights that are out there.

So, i know its plastic, but can anyone name the 'style' the describes this type of knight, if there is one?

Here's a better one.

Actually I think the fact that the knight i displayed looks more like what I'm used to seeing in 2D notation - like your avatar - is part of the reason I like this design.

I'd like to get a knight like the one above carved for me, to replace the one in my Lardy set,

but i'd like to be able to google other examples of  the one above to give the carver, which is why I'm looking for the 'name' of this style. If anyone can link me to other sets that have this style, that would be good too. I'm pretty sure they would have been common in the 70's, my parents set came in a folding case board and were a faux wood look plastic set.

Well, the knight seems happy - laughing with mouth open. So in the traditional pre 70's usage of the word , I suggest it could be the "Gay Knight" set ?

The knight is what determines the chessmen for me.

Take a look at these babies:

The knight is gorgeous but so is the rook. I love the fat wide ones. These chessmen are almost identical to what was used in the US 2015 Championship.

If anyone can locate these pieces for me in black and white it would be much appreciated!

Yeah... I don't think googling 'gay knight' is going to get me the results I want..

That knight looks like the house of Staunton imperial collector knight. I like that design as well, they sell them in ivory/ebony, boxwood/ebony, and plastic i think.

I still want to find other examples of this guy though..
