I agree! It is a common misconception that Napoleon Bonaparte was a small man. The truth is, that during those times, everyone was short, and in terms of the standards of the day, Napoleon, well ... was actual an 'above average' individual. Whodathunkit?
Napoleon opening??

Napoleon used to lead with his cavalry... bringing both Knights out before moving any Pawns.

Later in life... after Waterloo... he switched to 1. e4.

Napoleon was indeed short... with a huge ego.
And very overrated. Not quite in the Hitler or Stalin league of salivating evil, but easily on par with the like of Saddam or Mussolini. Acheived a remarkable string of military victory, before going bonkers. Led his grand army on a needless suicide march into Russia in 1812... with horrific suffering and casualties. Anybody who think Napoleon was a good guy is greatly mistaken. Arrogant, cruel and vindictive... with an ego that would make trump blush.
Lion has spoken.

However, I did LOVE him getting pulled around the time circuits in Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure! Awesome!!
Uh, guys? I was talking about the chess opening. I could careless about Napoleon.
The chess opening is bad, which is why the people responding took it off topic.
One of the basic principles: don't move your queen early in the opening unless you have a good reason. The queen on f3 blocks the knight's most natural square and is exposed to attack.

Napoleon opening is 1.e4 e5 Qf3.
But he has only 4 games in databases where both where against Madame de Remusat, almost the same games color reversed...
And only 1 game with 1.e4 e5 2.Qf3 where he was totally ouplayed...
The 3 other games :
I had never heard of this opening until today. Early development of the queen, I suppose? I don't know. I never seen this played before, how about you???
