Next move

hello everyone, im new here and i played a game the other day, but had to stop before we ever finished it.

im just a casual player and have a very basic understanding of chess, i just play for fun against friends.

so below you can see the game we got unfinished but i really wonder how this game would have played out.

it would be my turn (white) and i thought the best next move would be C1 to E3. so i wonder what you guys think about how this match would play out.. cheers!

also i know i really didnt develop my pieces properly but i just had this atk oppertunity so i took it.

As a patzer, this would be my approach as white:

I'm up a rook, so my strategy will be to trade pieces until a K+R vs. K endgame is reached. Starting this process I'll play Qf7+, forcing the trade of queens. Removing black's queen significanly reduces his or her chances of a tactical shot that wins back material.

After that, develop pieces, castle, and advance pawns to take away squares from black's knights (not necessarily in that order); and as always looking to make or force trades.

thats a nice thought process landloch, and might be the better strategy.

my thought process was that if i trade the queens it would stop the atk, and make my advantage smaller, with only rook up mid game. i also have him pretty cornered so i could develop my pieces more while hes stuck at the upper right corner.

but like you said, removing the queen would make it harder for him to get back.
