After all why UK is so anti Anand?
Nigel Short does not see Anand winning another World title

Is there any reason to presume that apart from this Nigel Short quote? He also says ''one of the greatest players in chess'' btw

Well knowing that Short is a Spoilt Brat! what else can he say!?
Nigel Short was routed by Kasparov in his only shot at the world title .We can therefore conclude that Nigel Short does not know what it takes to win a world title and accordingly he should treat Anand with more respect; after all, Anand does know what it takes to win a world title.

This coming from a guy who started a thread saying "Is Kramnik really a patzer" ...
Surely Short is allowed to voice his own opinion (well, nothing much stops him!). He didn't say it wouldn't be possible, he just said he didn't see it.
Also the UK are not anti-Anand, don't know why you'd make that assumption based on one quote.

I am perfectly comfortable with the mixed response that I got with my Kramnik threads.I found it very entertaining and amusing to see the servile fish like yourself snapping away at the bait that I offered.

Short would probably have made it to WCC, if Kasparov hadn't been on campus.
That's probably also true for Anand and his current doppleganger, Carlsen.
Nonetheless, I'm still rooting for Anand, and a big upset.

Sorry but I can't see Anand beating Carlsen either. At least not from watching their last match. The kid is just too good.

UK is being racist and doesn't like India? IDK, just a guess.
What was it Short said again ? It was this: "Anand is five-time world champion and definitely one ofthe greatest players in chess. But I don't see him winning the world chess title again,"
From that, you guess that UK doesn't like India.
Edit: It's just occured to me that you were being ironic - and your post was actually quite funny. D'oh!

Pure stupidity.

Since Short was simply voicing what is surely the concensus opinion among all the strong players in the world, it's amazing how much venom he he has stirred up here. In fact, there is nothing bold or controversial about Short's opinion. Carlsen beat Anand pretty decisively in their last match; he has has a much better record than Anand over the last few years, he is much higher rated than Anand, and he is much younger. Of course he is a very strong favorite.
There's also something hilarious about some random nitwit on chess.com claiming that since Nigel Short, who was able to defeat some of the strongest players on the planet and become the official challenger for the world championship "Does not know what it takes to win a world title." Obviously, few people in the world would know better than someone who has been to the mountaintop
There is something quite cowardly about some random contributor calling another a random nitwit from the safety of his own home; that's the trouble with you random trolls :you are a bunch of cowards.

Wow, way to harshen the tone.
If I had better things to do than comment on your threads, I would be doing them. Procrastination - I am a student!

"Anand has become mentally old and this showed in his approach"-- Nigel Short,2012.
"I don't doubt it is possible for Anand to raise his game"--Nigel Short, 2013.
"I don't see him(Anand) winning the world chess title again"-- Nigel Short, 2014.
He seems pretty consistent in his views, and as he is extremely pro-Kasparov, it doesn't surprise me that he doesn't fancy Anand's chances. Add to it the fact that most GMs share his views, it was just a natural comment from an outspoken guy like Short.

It's just realism. Anand is over the hill whereas Magnus is just getting started. Maybe Magnus can play the Latvian against him so Anand gets a free point... but I don't think Carlsen is that much of a nice guy.
As for Short... well, he defeated Kasparov using the King's Gambit once in a blitz game. Takes a lot to play a dubious opening against Kasparov... and still win. Even if he drew it would be impressive (since this is Kasparov we're talking about even a draw with an optimal opening like a mainline Ruy Lopez)
Nigel Shortof England on Monday said it would not be possible for former championViswanathan Anandto regain the world chess title which he lost last year toMagnus Carlsenof Norway."Anand is five-time world champion and definitely one ofthe greatest players in chess. But I don't see him winning theworld chess title again,"
