i dunno,it's probably pretty hard to look through an entire game and find ONE move where the player cheated though.
Noticed something regarding cheating
But it's so easy for a cheater to think: "Hmm, this move I just tried worked pretty well; but I'm stuck on this one. One more look won't hurt..." and on and on it goes until he plays every game with the help of a computer and chess.com's staff catches him.
I agree, though, that most cheaters are obviously going to have higher ratings. If someone has been consistently cheating (i.e. pretty much winning ALL of his games.), doesn't it make sense that his rating would go up and not down?

cheaters are simply people that don't like losing, there are many ways to cheat, and it is impossible to figure out, which move, unless you review about 50 games, in certain positions, the cheater may always cheat on a couple moves, that will be stronger than the usual moves,

i hate cheaters, if your too dumb to make your own moves you shouldn't be playing. Really, your not getting much out of the game, just wasting your time away pretending to be a good player.

[you're] not getting much out of the game...
There is at least one way to get something out of using computers to make your moves. You can create a database of "best moves" against common moves in your favorite openings. Then with programs like "Chess Position Trainer" you can train using these "best moves." I do this very thing on a different chess server, but on that server I am labeled as a computer.

There is an old addage that says cheaters never win.I take that to mean if you cheat then you really did not win, someone else won for you.Dont see the pride in that. But if thats what you want...have at it.
I suppose it would be seeable whether someone cheated for a couple of moves since these are likely to be at certain points in the game. If a player pulls out a brilliant sacrificial mate that even Masters can't see, chances are it is a computer.

I agree with the original post for the most part. I do not agree that there are no cheaters below say 2200. I believe that many times people feel wronged or that their opponent is cheating..and decide to "cheat back." There is so much paranoia regarding cheating, and sometimes it actually causes more.
I've noticed there are many threads about cheating. I wanted to point out something I've noticed. Whenever one of the staff mentions cheaters, it seems to always be in reference to the highest rated players on this site. That makes sense; one who cheats consistently will certainly have a high rating. I've not, though, seen a staff member mention the case where someone cheats only for one or two moves in a game. I bet this type of cheating is FAR more common! What do you think? For the record, I have never and will never use a computer to give me a move in any of my games (except in a computer tournament of course).
