Novels with a chess theme

I've been on a chess go slow for quite a while, sadly, due to work and family problems. I've just read Queen's Gambit, and have watched the excellent series. I got my 13 year old nephew to watch it. And he's getting into chess now. I just wondered if any of you know of any other novels or movies that have got a strong chess theme?

The Chess Machine is decent. It has some more adult content, as I recall.

The following are good, but non-fiction:

The Queen of Katwe

Searching for Bobby Fischer

I enjoyed The Luzhin Defense by Nabokov, but I know it's not for everyone.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Just started the short novella 'Chess' by Stefan Zweig, which is very good so far, and only 99p on Kindle.

Trust me , chess is not a popular subject in fiction for a good reason. Most readers cannot relate to chess and they don't care for themes of chess.

The Queen's Gambit seemed to be very popular, or at least the series was. I have many friends who don't play chess, but they loved it.

A while ago, I asked if there were any good books with chess themes. Well, I just found one. It's a thriller called THE WHITE KNIGHT by Scott Mariani. The hero has to find a stolen chess set that once belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte. There's a really cool chess game half way through the book. You can find it on Amazon UK and big stores like Tesco. A great read!
