Would be interesting to hear it from a titled player, but generally it shouldn't be disadvantageous. We play on all sort of different boards (colours), being one-coloured may be "strange", but not a problem - the most important things are calculating, plan and tactics.
Dear friends, I have a chess board but with one color: black. Such boards were used in middle east for centuries. It is not easy to follow the diagonal moves of queen and bishop, and color changing moves of knight in such boards. My kids love to play chess on it. But I want to ask the experienced players and teachers. Are there any advantages or disadvantages of using such one colored boards?
