I consider myself a beginner. I understand that practice makes perfect. but really only perfect practice makes perfect. I've been losing a bit and am wondering if i should study more or just keep playing hoping that I Will keep learning and improving.

Batgirl says:

Practice does not make perfect.

Only Perfect Pracice by a Prefect Person could only Possibly make Perfect.

Unlike notmtwain, I will answer the question.

At your level you should do many, MANY tactics. All of the games are won or lost because of tactical mistakes.

Once you feel comfortable and stop blundering, you should begin looking at some opening and basic positional concepts.

After playing a game, especially one you lost, analyise it and decide which mistakes made you lose the game (probably tactical mistakes, as I stated before).

When I was your level I played one, two "long" games at most per day (long being 15 minutes per side at least).
