Like if they are throwing on purpose am I going to get banned? I don't know who i am playing, they aren't my friend or anything
Opponent throwing games?

Report the player for sandbagging.
Sometimes people just stop caring about the outcome of a game. If you play too much chess can get boring and then the more interesting aspect is to lose as creatively as you can on purpose. Presumably you can still report someone for that but not all losses are due to rating manipulation.

I don't understand how chess gets boring from playing too much. Can you explain this?

It's not even chess specific really. Sure, some people like to eat the same thing for breakfast every single day, or listen to the same music when they exercise, or go on holiday to the same place every year. But some people like variety. The novelty is worth something on top of the activity itself. Doing the same thing as what you did before then slowly becomes a negative experience, even if you enjoyed it the first time around. And although every chess game is pretty different after say 15 moves, at the end of the day, most of what you're doing is the same regardless of the position. I.e., evaluating threats, planning attacks, many tactics repeat themselves etc. So while the competitive aspect of chess is addictive, playing it for a long while is not necessarily enjoyable if you can't break that habit. Of course there are chess variants on this site and elsewhere, but the player pools are pretty limited.

With such an attitude, life would become boring. You cook, you eat, you defecate.
When I was young, I had a friend who played war games. I played them with him. We rarely played the same game twice. I chose to give up war games in the quest to understand chess. That was 45 years ago. Chess remains fresh and interesting. War games hold no interest.

Anyone could equally say they gave up chess and played war games for 45 years because they remain fresh and interesting. Whereas for them, chess was static and boring. At the end of the day it's personal preference about what you find interesting. Sure, chess theory develops, people find new lines, there're computers and AI now, new styles, new puzzles, whatever. I recall previous threads which go into detail about all such things. However, if those changes aren't interesting for someone, then the game is basically the same as it always was, because the rules are still basically the same (at least in the 'modern day').
So I recently played a few games against someone I won't reveal, but after a few games he started purposely throwing games. Should I take the win? Am I going to get banned? Can yall give some advice? thx
