Yes, it's an excel macro.
The program didn't work for me.
I can see what it should be doing. I can see the additional DBF worksheet that was created. But other than the headers, that new DBF tab is blank.
When the program asks for my handle, I was confused. My Chess.com handle? If so, why? The pgn file I pointed to was my file of over-the-board tournament games. My chess.com handle isn't in that file. So I figured it really just wanted my name, as it looks in my pgn file. So, I gave it my name (Collins, Edward Dennis) but again, no information apeared in the DBF tab.
I looked at the code and noticed a referense to chess.com. So I ran it again and this time I gave it my chess.com handle, just for fun, but again, nothing in the DBF file.
Both times, Sheet1, in the "A" column, correctly lists every game in my pgn file, so the pgn file is being loaded properly. (And yes, it's a standard, pgn text file.)
Ideally, you should add a tab called HELP that lists the program name, the version number, and a brief description of what the program should be doing, etc., ett., to help the user. Over the years I've seen hundreds of games and ulitities and programs... all with little or no documentation. The main reason being, the programmer was just too lazy to write something up. They had fun writing the program... but writing the docs was "work" to them. As much time as a programmer spends writing the source code, the programmer should now spend the same amount of time on cleaning up the interface and documenting the program.
PGN Converter

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for your input. I hard coded this to work for chess.com pgn files. I'll have to do some research and make this a more friendly, universal pgn converter.
The tool asks for your handle so that it can tell if you played the game as white or black.
Agreed about the documentation. I had just finished it and thought I would throw it up on the interwebs.
I'll get around to getting another version up soon.
PS - Thanks risk for pointing me to scid vs PC. It looks amazing.

PSS - To download your chess.com PGN, go to:
http://www.chess.com/home/my_archive?show=live#
In the lower right corner, you'll find a "Download All My Games in One PGN" link.

Alright, version 1.1 is uploaded:
http://www.2shared.com/file/_fNmlYzI/PGN_to_DBF_Converter_v1_1.html
I just added a help tab. Next up, I'll make a few dashboards and make the macro more generic (i.e. make it run with PGN's that aren't from chess.com).
Thanks!

Hi Borg,
It's difficult to run statistical analyses on PGN files. It would even be difficult to get something as simple as a chart of your ELO over time.
But really, there's nothing ground breaking here. I was just bored and thought I would share what I made.

Alright, I've created a universal PGN converter. This should work for any PGN files, not just chess.com files:
http://www.2shared.com/file/1rHSjNXX/PGN_to_DBF_Converter__universa.html
If you do want to convert your chess.com PGN file, I suggest the latest v1.X file as it has more functionality than the universal converter:

Hey everyone!
I created a script that will convert your PGN files into a more friendly database format (dbf) for Excel. Now you're set to track your own performance and do your own analyses!
Download the chess.com specific converter here:
http://www.2shared.com/file/_fNmlYzI/PGN_to_DBF_Converter_v1_1.html
Download the universal converter here (this will work with PGN files that aren't from chess.com):
