Pincer rating.

Similarly fighter bot has improved. I just played a game and to play at 1550 level to defeat it. It's rating as per game review was 1250 in the game.

I played again with pincer. Post winning Game archive says it is 1650 level but I am sure it is not less than 2000. I have played with numerous bots and this is much stronger than any 1700 level bot I have played. I cam defeat 1500 level bot normally though I am mere 900 level in rapid. I don't play with humans as I do poorly for reasons I don't understand. But I play well with bots. These bots are certainly learning and improving. Defeating pincer early on when it was launched was much easier. Stalemate yeah bots are masters in stale mate. One should take each mive with 5 min pause when you know you are in commanding position else stale mate is certain.

I beat them at at 565 rating, but I haven't actually played enough games to know my true rating yet. They were challenging to beat, and I did pick white each time. Pincer made me have to change up my strategy completely after the early game, and I ended up winning by playing a superior endgame with a pawn advantage. If they didn't blunder some pieces sometimes, it would be impossible.

Yeah, I also tried and it was pretty tough, although It seems the bot is coded very poorly. First 30 moves it was a tough game, then we reached an equal endgame and it suddenly gave away all its pieces for free..

pincer is pretty easy
If you defeat him early the first game or two, but the bot evolves and gets stronger as you continue playing so his rating is not stagnant. My guess it starts around 1500 and goes up from there

Pincer doesn't seem that strong. I blunder a pawn against him and then he proceeds to blunder back winning position with a couple bad moves and goes on to lose the game.

I've been relearning chess for a month now (I hadn't played in 40 years and I was never very good). I started out playing Fighter, and it took about 15 games before I could win half. Now I've played Pincer and only won my 10th game. The great thing about Pincer is that it's very aggressive, so you have to very carefully chase its pieces away when it probes/attacks. It's also very precise and can block each of your attacks with 3 different pieces while simultaneously attacking you elsewhere on the board. If I could beat this thing half the time, then I'm sure I could take on the Botez sisters and Tyler 1 at least. lmao

First time was difficult, but the second I was able to beat them quickly. Here's the game. Great force sacrifice of my knight but was able to force them to defend.

You guys don't realize that the first win is not that hard, but if you beat it 3 times in a row, then that's what we're talking about. It gets a lot harder over time.

I suck at chess, so I couldn't beat it the first time.

I played again. Had to play at 1700 level with 90% accuracy to defeat pincer. That too after numerous tries.

Don't fret over that, friend. The cool thing about bots is, there is no time limit. If I played someone at or above 2k rating, they would slaughter me in rapid or even 30 min games. If I played a 10 hour game against them though, then it would probably be a lot more even. Just shows that, we often make blunders when not taking our time. The more experience you have playing chess, the less time you need to make moves. At high level play though, time does matter quite a bit.
