I have recreated my Legend Alegria Plastic Staunton Chess Set in the finest Ebony and Boxwood in my Pro Line Quality. I intend to offer it in the range of $349 plus shipping depending on shipment costs to me. One time consessions made to me in manufacturing this set allow me to sell it at nearly half the cost. The knight carving is perhaps the nicest I have produced in wood in 25 years and is of world class quality.

The set  may never reach my

web sitle as I have made only 20 sets. The pieces are identical in nearly all aspects to the plastic set, the weighting should end up a bit more. You can find out more on the design of the Legend Alergria and further contact info for me on my Web Site http:.

I have a reserve list for this set if you would like on it send me an email to legprod62@gmail.com I will contact you when they arrive.

Can you make the set in bud rose wood instead of ebony?
Dennis_Petersen

I am not sure I will look into it last I heard the knight Carver was nearly finished it may be to late in the production as the set went into full production already. This set has been in the works for over a year many prototype knights had been made, many knight Carver's were tested.

I like the Alegria Staunton design, and I would never imagine for a plastic set to be replicated into wooden pieces. Normally its the other way around, right?

For me, the knight design of the Alegria Staunton set is one of the best to both look at and handle in either slow game or blitz. My first encounter of this knight was with TheChessStore.com Protourney plastic set in camel.

EDIT: I got that wrong. I actually have one of your Alegria Staunton sets with a 4" King in ivory! I host blitz games at the office with the set and a mousepad board. It's the favorite so far.

the knight above chessreboto may be fr the chess store but it is not the Alegria

I do own the rights to The Legend Alegria Staunton Set, it's molds, manufacture, and exclusive sale. It has been popular and so I decided to make it in wood.

chessroboto

Yeah. I realized that after I posted. I actually own the one on your site with the 4" King. Everyone likes playing with this set among all my plastic sets.

I'm a fan of the Alegria plastic sets.  I've given them as gifts, My grandson has one and also a Kings Indian (Legend's other plastic set).  I'm a horrible photographer, but ...

@Dennis_Petersen - Would you be able to post more photos of the wooden version for us? Thanks.

Dennis_Petersen

I will post a picture of the unfinished boxwood pieces of the new Pro Line Legend Alegria being made in Ebony wood and Boxwood when I get back from a trip keep in mind they were made from scrap wood and demonstrate the final tooling.

Looking forward to it!

Here are the prototype pieces in unfinished form that have been put into production the set will arrive sometime in late October, understand these were made of scrap wood and not finished merely a first attempt at the design. When I have finished product I will post them. My hope is to sell the set at $349 plus shipping depending on my final costs. If you want to reserve one now I will make it firm at $349 plus shipping. No money is needed till they arrive. You can email me at legprod62@gmail.com  to reseve one

Magnificent set, I really look forward to get one when I can afford it. It is one of the best designs I've seen,  since it is not easy to find a set where all pieces have a nice design, IMHO. I hope you'll keep producing it. Congratulations
