If you get your rating up high enough, you can get some games from Masters. I've had I think two games against National Masters. But they're probably not interesting in playing games against significantly lower rated opponents.
Play a game against a real chess master.

It's easy to find a chess master to play against here. Click on "online coaching" under the heading "learn"and take your pick. Oh wait...Did you mean for free?

That's awesome! Right now I am like a class "C" player so they might accept the match or not.

Yes I do know the online coaching. I was trying to say that you can try to challenge a chess master to a correspondence game or a quick bullet game. If it was for coaching puroposes then yes.

I have played a 2200+ master on one occasion OTB. We played for a few hours, and I did okay (meaning I lost every game, but I did not embarrass myself and I even had decent threats at some points). At one point, he complimented me on a opening "novelty". But the truth is he played me because I was the only semi-decent Chess player on that Air Force base while he was there for a week.
I also played a candidate master in the first round of a tournament once, who took me under his wing afterwards, showing me how to play some positions by walking me through his favorite Rubenstein games and helping me analyze my subsequent round games. He told me to read My System.
I had/have a winning record against the highest rated player in Wyoming in 1988 (1900ish rating which seemed inflated based on the 1700s I had played elsewhere) over a handful of games.
Those are my only brushes with "notable" high-rated players in my entire Chessplaying career ;).
I think the problem you are not grokking here is that the ratio of masters to everyone else is rather small ;)...so thinking, "hey, this would be cool for me" while not realizing that if everyone did this, masters would have to plays dozens and dozens of games a day to placate everyone that feels the same way...yeah, not so nice from the master side.
Hello. I really would like to see more real chess masters play against regular club members on the chess.com server. It could be a quick bullet game to a 14 day correspordence game. This way, people like me can tell a story about how they played against a real chess master, regardless of the result, and have fun telling the story. Can you real chess masters out there be willing to accept challenges from the regular chess club members here on chess.com? Thank you very much and I reallly apperciated it a lot!
