Playing chess by typing coordinates

I want to be able to play chess with a friend of mine only by saying coordinates, but i am not familiar enough with coordinates to do it. I really would like to be able to play chess (either against the computer or an other player) by typing coordinates while looking at the chessboard. Is that possible?

Not here.

Visually disabled players have requested it but I haven't seen chess.com give an indication that it is being considered.

Thank you but pity... it seems like a good idea.

Do you know, in any chance, any other place which this feature is available?

You can do this in winboard.

I've practiced blind chess with it in the past.

You can hide (or obscure) the board, and only have the move list visible. This way you can see the computer's move. On your turn you can type your move to play it, etc.

You could also just play a game with yourself (or another person) this way. Wouldn't have to be vs an engine.

Winboard is also handy because it accepts a wider format of PGNs.

For example some chess.com games and diagrams I can't simply copy and paste into chessbase, but using winboard as an in-between step, I can copy and paste them with no problems.
