Playing online with a friend

Hi,

I'd like to play chess over an internet connection with a friend - we're in 2 different contries. How can I go about?

If you are both a member of chess.com then its simple.  Just search for your friend in members and you can play together.  If you want to play live chess then your friend has to be online.  If you are playing online chess (a few days setting) then you won't need to be online at the same time.  Hope that helps.

Can I play a game of Chess with a friend over a long period of time.  That is, like a move a day by each till the game is settled

I have just joined chess .com this week. I am 84 so a slow thinker and have not played for 61 years. I did play socially whilst doing national service in mid 1950;s. Decided to try playing again to give the little grey cells a workout and have enjoyed playing against the computer. I would love to play an occasional social game with someone online. I live in the M23 are of Manchester England if this helps. Other interests are music, I play the electronic organ mainly ballroom dance music and photography.

Chess.com is really not the way to go, there is no easy way to play chess online with a friend anymore, all the apps are so complicated now its just too hard
