You should have noticed that on a person's Profile, it says thay have a certain number of points.
I used to think that you earned one point every time someone viewed your Posts, but I have about 200 views for my posts, and only 50 points.
Does anyone know how chess.com calculates how many points you should have?
Apparently, you get a point every time you post a response to a topic.
One post, one point. so that question just earned you a point :-)
Okay.
But if that's the case, don't spammers get a lot of points?
definetly jingy
What are points for, anyway?
Nothing. Just a measure of a member's activity.
A very long time ago Erik used to give out Tshirts if you got a certain number of points. I'm assuming he did that to foster the growth of the forums; obviously no longer needed .
