I wonder if anyone still plays chess through the mail.
Postal Chess

The Correspondence Chess League of America (CCLA) and the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF) are still around and, I believe, both still run chess-by-post (as well as by e-mail and server).

USCF and CCLA (in the U.S) and the CCCA in Canada still offers Postal Chess and in Europe there is the National Chess Club (founded in 1932) and there are others like CCLA Australia.
Most CC Is played online because the costs of postage and quicker pace but players who can afford it still play snail mail chess it attracts a different class of player who is serious and wants to really play they tend to be nicer people than what you typically encounter online e.g. the tempermental teenagers and time waster running engines banging moves instantly and yelling in all caps hurry up hurry up hurry up move more quickly!
Because games can last 4-10 years they keep away time wasters who aren't dedicated and commited it's not a race!
Found a stack of these blanks today while digging through boxes...
