Can anyone explain the Chess.com scoring system for solving puzzles? It seems to be incredibly unfair. When I solve them correctly, I get 2 or 3 points if I'm lucky, but if I get them wrong, they take 10, 12, 15 points off me, which means that I have to solve the next 5 or 6 problems in a row just to get back to my previous level, making it almost impossible to make any progress.
It is a mixture of how long it takes to solve the puzzle and the difference between your rating and the puzzle rating.

Thanks for your reply, but, do you have any idea as to the formula or algorithm used?
The rating formula is the same as the game rating formula, or at least it used to be, then scaled based on time. Some problems give partial credit, for getting some moves correct, but I don't know how that impacts it exactly.
