Just to clarify I aint promoting the page I am showing something interesting!

While browsing today I came across this very interesting website called https://www.pychess.org/ which has a whole lot of variants like Ancient Chess and much more. Why cant sites like lichess and chesscom that attract lots of people add some of these? Not competitive since it wont have lots of players but against bots or friendlies. Site is worth taking a look because it has seen no growth in the last months even though it has a really good potential.

Well, I'm not one for variants - I have enough trouble with regular chess. However, I hope it doesn't disappear. We need variety in chess.

When I saw this thread, I thought you were going to talk about the PyChess software client for Linux: https://pychess.github.io/

I had no idea that the same developer had created a web site for chess variants. Although I currently don't play chess variants, I hope the site catches on.

Exactly, I hope it doesnt get lost because it is a hidden gem. In order for that to happen people need to find the site though and lichess and chesscom seem to completely ignore it despite the variety it offers sad.png
