Queen + Rook = more than 50 moves?

I think it is a draw, provided K+R player is carefull enough not to be forked. I think
King and Rook should keep on opposite color squares and there will be no fork then.

No, king plus queen against king and rook is always a win, provided the rook side can't immediately draw (take queen, get stalemate etc.). It's hard, but it's certainly doable.
And I'm not sure how many moves it takes. The 50-move rule is pretty harsh in that sense, that even if the queen side can win the rook on move 51, if he didn't win the rook in 50 moves the rook side can claim a draw.

erik--what do you mean "solve every position"?
Eugen--I did not provide the move sequences. I only provided the diagrams.

i heard rumors that a K+Q vs. K+R can be won, but that modern computing has pushed that number past 50 moves in some cases. anyone know more on this?
