Depends, sometimes there are opponents that do not operate well without their queens. They are so dependent upon their queens that they do not function as well and removing their queens causes them to function with other pieces and since they are so dependent upon queens they are lost. I even remember one forum where a player thought it was rude to trade queens. Also if you find yourself in a situation where they have basically pinned your queen it is best to consider all your options and try to cause as much damage by either taking their queen or being as disruputive as possible to their game plan.
queen exchange

By itself it's an even change, not an advantage or a disadvantage, of course.
But sometimes one queen is much more active than the other, then of course it benefits the side with the less active queen (if all else stays the same).
Also, without queens different things become important. With queens, quick attacks on the king are easier, to king safety is very important, and the initiative can be a very dangerous thing. Without queens, the game is a bit slower, weaknesses like weak pawns are more likely to tell, kings can sometimes start to play an active role themselves, et cetera.
So trade if you think the position has features that you think are to your advantage if there weren't any queens.
Which is pretty vague. But so it goes.

Sorry for being annoying but has anyone else noticed that "lose" is probably the most frequently miss-spelled word on this site?

Generally, it is not a good idea to trade Queens if you are down in material. If you are ahead though, it is OK to do so. But this is a general concept and your position and mobility of your forces must be taken into consideration.

it's a good idea to swap queens when your opponent is overly aggressive,or when you have a better endgame

If you refer to "loose" its not a misspelling of "lose" nor vice versa. Lose and loose are two different words with different meanings. It seems a lot of people dont understand this and when someone notices they pass it off as a simple misspelling.

I have noticed that! Strange indeed... They must be thinking of Castling o-o
I'm glad 'oponites' didn't annoy you.

Since the queen is the most powerful piece in the game, trading queens generally calms the game down. If you have a material advantage, this is often a good idea, because it limits your opponent's ability to formulate a counter attack and regain the material. But this generally means you will be trading down to win the endgame. If you have a material advantage and a strong attack, you might want to keep your queen and go straight for the mate or an even bigger advantage. Of course, if you're facing that attack you may want to trade to try and survive and come back later.
