Queens gambit declined help I need to learn it

My advice:
Pick some good players from about fifty to a hundred years ago who used to play the Queen's Gambit Declined. Find some of their games in that opening. Play those games through from move one right to the end.
Why old games instead of modern players? Because the older games are easier to understand. You don't need to be a Master in order to understand Capablanca's play. But an average 1300-ranked player has zero chance of understanding Carlsen's play.
Here, I'll start you off.
People like Capablanca, Alekhine and Marshall used to play the QGD as White, and also sometimes as Black. Somewhat more recently, Spassky was a big fan of the Tartakower line.
In modern times, Carlsen, Ding and Kramnik are QGD players.

With less time and effort than you put into typing those 2 posts, you could have found dozens of relevant articles and videos and books and whatnot with a simple internet search.

while what you said maybe true, it was very rude. the simple fact that he reached out for help shows that he, himself is taking the initial step to learn! guide him instead of ripping him over what is basically a mute point.

the QGD is a very broad subject. Did you wish to discuss the mainline type positions where black plays e6? or were you interested in the Tarrasch defense incorporating c5? or did you want to even look at the Chigorin with Nc6?

The rough idea you need to know is to play c5 as black, and play chess from there on out. A gross oversimplification, but that’s all you need to worry about right now. When c5 is good, and when to wait a bit more.

Mr Bismarck is correct.
but I want to know if you understand the basics before we move on.
why does black play e6 in the QGD?

Asking me? To support d5. Make sure you can recapture with a pawn in the case of cxd. To solidify the position in general.

I think the "you" mentioned above ("I want to know if you understand...") was igloofreeze.

I'm sorry sir. no, I was not asking you. I was asking the OP. I know you already know why. I was just incorporating what you said into my conversation with him because you were correct.
Can someone tell me some advice on the queens gambit especially high level people with lots of knowledge on the queens gambit declined?
