question about rigid chess vs casual chess

Hi I just saw a video by Roman, and as usual you learn a lot from his videos.

since I stopped playing otb I have taken chess lightly and play what I would consider casual chess. sometimes I put a lot into my chess games other times I just more or less move pieces.

what annoys me in Romans lectures is that he says if you don't do like this or this you should stop playing chess.

is he right or does chess.com also welcome casual chess players.

Many of us on Chess.com are casual players. If you think it's fun, play chess.

Nah.  I'm reconsidering this whole study thing myself.  I mean what's your reward for getting better?  To play tougher opponents?  Plenty of woodpushers here.  Roman just gets a little testy now and then.

Well I would imagine that Roman's intended audience is not casual players.
