I have read part of My System. His opening ideas seem somewhat weird to me. Anyway, in most chess books that were written before the computer era there will be opening errors.
Questioning an Aron Nimzowitsch example.

So looking at examples of "My System" about liquidation when things go wrong in the beginning, i found this:
Black to move in this position.
Nimzowitsch says continuation should be:
7. ... exd4 8. Nxd4 Nf6 in order to liquidate and states 7. ... e4 is wrong.
But doing some calculations of my own and check the position with chess analysis engines, they all suggest pawn to move to e4.
Does this create any weaknesses long-term?
Short term its clearly superior.
