Why are the pieces called chessMEN?

it's not racist white and black chess pieces have nothing to do with race, they are just colors. A side has to move first so it just is white. I hate when people think they are so "smart" saying that. And as of sexism, chess is an old game based upon warfare. Kings where the most important people and only men fought.
Maybe the creator of chess likes white?!

Anybody that wants to whine and bi*ch about White going first should take up Go, Checkers, or Othello. In all 3 cases, Black goes first.

I never realized that a White chess piece had a race.

And then for all of you sexist a-holes claiming chess pushes masculine power and that women are weak - I'll bet you $1000 per game - Time control 5 minutes, I will gladly take Black and let you go first every game!
The catch? I get Black's starting position. You get all White male pieces and must play without any female pieces! You also can never promote to anything female!

The game of Go must also be racist, because Black plays the first stone. In Bridge, West always makes the opening lead. In backgammon, an Omar Sharif-looking guy from that part of the world always ends up taking money from people from my part of the world, which is why I don't play backgammon for money.

Somebody (Magnus) already broke this 'white moves first' rule. So I don't think it should be discussed anymore. But yeah that coin flip idea is highly appreciable...
I searched for this topic hoping for examples of nutjob politically-correct absurdity, and this exceeded my expectations. Great trolling as well. My chess set is glass and stone. I decry the racism towards transparent-skinned people everywhere. On the sexism note: chess is certainly sexist. The only female piece has powers that surpass the others. Darn that misandry!
