Recognise chess cheaters

A lot of people don't play because they are afraid of the cheaters, being crushed and feeling incompetent... It would not be a bad idea to have a guide to recognise them so that you can avoid them and not feel so bad after losing. I can edit this post and create a list like so:

- Very low bullet rating,

- Players registered only few days ago,

- Never seem to lose a game,

- Seemingly can see many moves ahead and can calculate  very quickly,

- Your every move is a mistake,

- Never make a mistake more than 0.5 checked using decent chess engine,

- Can play any openig and/or always use different opening,

- Mostly play blitz...

_____________

Note: this is only general guide, myself for example have zero patience for standard chess (15 min) and have lowest rating (maybe focus in 1 game out of 5) - if you read my profile this the bit about being patient. I take at least 5 min per move in online chess wining many games (i am completly exhausted when playing 10 games at the same time).

Your list is quite exhaustive....

I was thinking that many people get crushed and stop playing, if they were to check this list they may say: 'oh he/she is a cheater' or 'it is humanly posible to play that well (not cheater) i may just try harder.'

Sugest few ideas that may help...

While the list is Probaby helpful, but there is an inherant Risk, as there's always gonna be An anomolous Player that might fit those criteria but be an Honest player

How is it even possible to cheat at chess in a computerized forum?  I would think the software itself wouldn't allow pieces to move in ways they shouldn't, or allow a person to play out of turn or something.

Using chess programs to tell you the best moves.

Your list is quite exhaustive but not entirely correct. Staff watches very closely those allegedly suspected of cheating. I trust their hard work and efforts. Personally I don't care if they cheat or not, it's their problem. If I feel they cheat, I'll block them and won't play them anymore.

I agree with this, I don't care if people cheat either. I don't think I have ever played anyone who used an engine for the whole game. I have been suspicious of one or two moves in the odd game where my opponent has come up with a surprising continuation, but this could easily be that their analysis was better than mine. If I get a good hard fought game, win or lose I'm happy. I certainly would not give up playing because of the possibility of someone cheating. As echecs06 said, I'll leave it up the staff to track down any hard core cheaters.

Sorry to correct you, but "standard chess" is not a 15 minutes game...

Or you can click on the Help & Support link at the bottom of the page to report someone if you feel they are or maybe cheating.
