Recommendations for an Affordable, Good Chess Clock?

I suggest getting a real clock. I would go for one that is decently cheap that i have played with before. but that's just me, i don't know too much about chess clocks. On amazon(.ca) you can get a quite good clock for $35 that's the cheapest one there, but i think it's decent quality, i don't know about amazon.com though....http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000WFCH4U/ref=s9_simh_gw_p63_d4_i1?pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0Z75TYQCGVN1KBRK7CPN&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1687860482&pf_rd_i=915398

I would recommend the Z-MartFun II.
Most online chess shops carry them. (You can try www.chess4less.com, shop.chesscafe.com, www.uscfsales.com, etc)
Other than only being able to store 3 settings at a time instead of 12, it's just as good as the Chronos at literally half the price.
In addition, changing batteries is EASY! Trying to unscrew those tiny screws that frequently strip from the Chronos? Yeah, you try doing that! I gave up on about the 3rd or 4th time that I had to change the batteries.
As for the Z-MartFun II, I have a limited edition one with White LED lights, which is great. If you can't find this limited edition, go with the Green LED. The Red and the Blue especially can strain the eyes.

The best cheap clock is the DGT North American. It is basically the DGT XL missing a couple of things you don't need anyway
(here is a chart showing the differences):
http://www.dgtprojects.com/site/dgtsupport/frequently-asked-questions/288-clocks/286-comparison-options-dgt-2010-and-dgt-north-american
but it is WAY cheaper. You can get it for about $40 if you look around. If you want to go even cheaper, you can get an Excalibur Game Time 2 for in the $30 range. This is a decent clock that has all the features you need, but it's pretty cheaply made and thus not very durable.
I have both of these clocks and have experience with all of the expensive ones (would never pay what they ask for a Chronos, personally--way too expensive for what it is) and my hearty recommendation is the DGT North American.
ps on that comparison page, don't be fooled by that big grid, that's just what presets each clock offers. You can program any time control you want even if it says "no" in that spot on the grid. The paragraph at the top describes the key differences.

Also, for Android, the two best chess clocks (easily) are:
1. Time Control Chess Clock
2. chess.com's chess clock
In no particular order (I like them both equally). I've tried probably every chess clock out there and none come close to these two. Simple, clear, easy to program, and supports all the clock features you'd ever need.
Hey Guys,
Are all are absolutely fantastic! This was more than enough recommendations (seriously, so many to choose from!!) and are also in my price range and I'd like to thank you guys for chiming in! I really appreciate it. I'll have to check these all out (including the Chess.com store) soon.
Last time I played live we had to go on "feel" hahaha...sometimes telling the other guy he was taking too long (very arbitrary too!), but with no official clock/timer being used. Now I'll be able to know exactly what the time is. Since I'm broke, I'll be going with a cheap one most likely, but appreciate all the recommendations for possible future purchases and just knowledge in general. I really only need a simple, yet affordable one that does the job.
One day, it'd be nice to have a really good one though.
Thanks again everyone! This was very helpful!
I'm new to chess and would like to try to play some live games sometimes. I am curious of what the best affordable chess clock would be? Are they expensive? Are there ones to avoid or certain features to look for in good ones?...etc.
Any advice for getting one would be great. I'm hoping none are over $50.
