Rematch requests after a victory. Yea or nay?

I say nay.
Potato50012

I say it depends on a few factors.

1. Do you have the time?

2. Was the person polite? (no nasty chats or such)

3. How did the match end? (Did it ended with a blunder, causing say, a queen loss leading to or resignation, or did they just not measure up?)

4. When did the match end? (Did they quit early, or was their fate decided?

5. Anything else you think pertinent.

I say the answers for a yea are have time, polite, a blunder, and not having quit early.

I say why not, but as stated above, it really depends on the situation happy.png

Nay. I'm trying to play as many different players as possible. Win, lose, draw ... IDC ... I move on.

Over the last 2 days I have taken to spending a bit of time analyzing my blitz losses .. I realize it's blitz but I've found it interesting.

Would you accept them here or there?

Would you accept them in a house maybe with a mouse?

Would you accept them in a box 📦 would you do them with a 🦊?

I never request a rematch, not accept them.  There are 20,000+ players on the server usually and plenty of them around my rating so what is the point of playing the same person again?  Doesn't matter if you win, lose, draw, disconnect, whatever.

Potato50012

I only request it if I found it really fun to chat with that person, and only in a daily game.

People on this site have gotten to the point they probably think saying "hello" is "nasty chat" in this day and age. I say ~SPICE~ it up!

I'm just saying don't accept rematches from people who are swearing at you or anything like that. And if there is no chat, then it is not a factor.

proper etiquite says so and this is up to player a or b

glamdring27

lol, etiquette.

Etiquette says what?

Laskersnephew

It's really quite simple: If you want to play again, you accept the rematch request. If you don't want to play again you say "No thanks." There is no other correct answer

ac002003

If I enjoyed the game or thought it was interesting, and I have time, then I'll accept. I think some matchups produce better games than others. If I just had a great game with someone, why not play them again?

In honor of this question. I just turned down a rematch. Rock'on!

I guess I didn’t explain my question very well. The scenario is: opponent just beat me and then wants a rematch. To just prove again that they can beat me? I think you should only request a rematch if you just lost but obviously it’s just an etiquette thing.
Lord_Hammer

nah. its karma. I’d do a rematch if I LOSE

maverick82d

Sometimes.

Los_Tenyos_Krowo
Where does this assumption that they will beat u again come from? Are u doubting your own ability.

Get some confidence! Get some balls!

Psychology proves that after a lost game their opponent is more likely to give it their all so why don t u? Also why are u so picky just cause u got beat? Can t take a loss? I will get straight to the point. Consider your own question after a win, draw or loss. The basis that u lost is just plain childish and introduces bias into your argument. You sound like a sore loser rather than adopting a neutral stance

People can feel free to request a rematch in any situation, win, lose or draw.  It makes no difference.  Similarly I will reject rematch requests in any situation, win, lose or draw.  Etiquette is illusory.
