Remove the Russian Flag?

Today I was playing with a member and noticed the flag was grey. I’ve never seen a grey flag and clicked on it to see that it’s a Russian flag.

I understand if you (Chess.com) can’t process payments because of external requirements forced upon you by the political powers.

But you allow Russian players to play, and you voluntarily greyed out their flag.

That is incredibly insulting to the players who come here for Chess.

I’m not talking about who’s right or wrong with the situation there. I am talking only about the incredible slap in the face of every player who comes here for Chess who happens to be within those borders.

Chess.com, I’m sorry that I expected only a place to play Chess with players from all over the world, bridging cultures and languages, building community through our shared love of Chess.

I can’t support you with my membership money if you are going to behave this way. Even if you are the best Chess platform on the planet.

Please cancel my membership immediately.
