Reporting people for bad sportsmanship

Hi. When I’m winning a game and someone decides to let the clock run out instead of playing on or resigning, I report them. Just wondering if anyone actually knows what happens when after the report is submitted. Are the reports looked into and acted up?

The good sport questions are new. We don't really know how chess com is going to use the data collected.

I think that anyone garnering enough thumbs down should face consequences such as mandatory waits between games.

Or putting them into special pools with other bad sports. It would be crucial to let them know that such an action has occurred for the punishment to have any effect.

I agree. It is important for the quality of the site to have deterrents to poor sportsmanship. In addition, it is good for the bad actors to learn that there are consequences in life for such behavior. Some of them simply may not have been taught good manners.

I think it would be a good start to just provide a warning to the reported player that they have been reported.

I report them as "stalling." I have no idea what happens, if anything. I have reported many players for letting at least 3 minutes run out in a 5 minute game, but I never get any notification from chess.com

There are a lot of poor sports on this website I suppose. I guess they are the bullies from kindergarten that never grew up, lol.
