Robert James Fischer vs Anatoly Karpov

Hear me out.Bobby Fischers highest rating vs supposly 2785 and Karpovs 2780.At the time karpov was a challanger Fischer WAS at his prime so we can say he had 2785 rating at the moment.Karpov was at his prime years later so we can say he was rated 2750 or less at that moment.So if fischer did come to defend the title would he defend it and if he did would kasparov take it from him??

In 1975, Fischer had been inactive for three years while Karpov has proven to be the strongest player in the world. After 1972, Fischer was no chess player any more. You can't return after three years and continue where you left.
