Rook or 2 Queens?

That sounds like a good suggestion - if it works out. However, think about it: would someone as royal and noble as a queen be willing to take up the job of an assassin, when any common man could do it? Of course not! And moreover, if you have 2 queens, and you ask 1 of them to be an assassin, that's blatant favoritism for the other one, and do you think the one that's you're asking to become an assassin will be happy? So your suggestion, althogh it sounds nice, would never work in reality.

@macer: You need to credit me for the idea
Um... no I don't. The "queen or 2 rooks" question has been around for so long that it can be regarded as common knowledge. So my inspiration for this thread came from common knowledge.

Do you want to be blocked?
No, but I don't see what that has to do with the topic that we're currently discussing.

Yay! Thank you, the great and just Harryz!
Now, would you like to comment on the question I asked in my first post of this thread?

Come on Harryz! I shared some of my brilliant insights on your thread, so doesn't it seem right that you should share some of yours on mine?

I prefer having two queens because 18>5.
What does 18>5 have to do with the question that this thread is asking? Your answer is like saying that Harryz is better at trolling than macer75 because 2+3=5. Let's get serious and address the question, shall we?

Two queens equals 18 points, and a rook equals 5 points
What r u talking about? I might as well say that Macer equals 18 points, and 2 Harryzs equal 5 points.

Ok, nvm, I was joking. I get your point Harryz. However, chess isn't about having as much material as possible. It's about having a combination of pieces that work well together. And 2 queens certainly don't work well together, for reasons I've mentioned earlier in this thread. It's just like in any sport, where putting all of the best players in the world together may not give you the best team. Cooperation within the team is often more important than the individual abilities of the team members, and for that reason I think 2 queens is a terrible combination.

For example, consider this scenario. Black has a king and 2 queens, and white has a king and a rook. Now, of course, the 2 queens are going to hate each other, and so they start fighting. Eventually one of the queens notices that the white King doesn't have a queen, so she hooks up with him. So now white has a king, a queen and a rook, and black just has a king and a queen. In this scenario, who do u think is going to win?

I think I've had similar dynamics in my personal life - it can get quite complicated :)
Exactly! These kinds of things occur all the time! But unfortunately Harryz is too young to understand all of this, which is why he thinks that having 2 queens is a good thing.

Switching the allegiance of the queen is illegal.
Oh, Harryz, you are too idealist. People do illegal things all the time, and often they get away with it. Moreover, Kings and Queens are not bound by laws, and even if they are, who is there to enforce them?
Which of the two would you rather have, and why? Arguments can be made for both sides, so make sure that when you give your answer you also offer a convincing explanation.
For ex: I would rather have a rook, because if you have 2 queens they'll end up fighting each other, and in the end one of them will probably hook up with your opponent's King.
Note: to a certain extent, my inspiration for this thread came from another thread created by Harryz, which was in turn inspired by countless other threads created before his. Here's a link to Harryz's thread, in case anybody is curious:
