I stage an engine match (Rybka 4.1 50.5 vs Houdini 2.0 Pro 24.5) under Rybka 4 GUI, but failed to finish or complete the total number of 100 games. Now i need help on how to continue this chess engine match, i don't know how to continue it. is there a function in the said GUI to continue it?

Thanks All...

Too many views but no comments, maybe there isn't any function in the said interface on how to continue an engine match once it is stop.

Many Thanks...

why don't you just make another match of 25 games? That way, you could have the 100 games you wanted.

The results are rather strange, though. It's unlikely that rybka 4.1 would be superior to houdini 2, and by a large margin. Are you sure you have the correct versions (both mp or both sp) and correct settings (such as, ponder off)?

And THIS is why I don't answer e-mails/forum posts which indignantly "demand" to know why the user got unexpected results when they ran an engine match or tournament. There are sooooooo many variables that a user can change that there's no way to know why some antiquated chess engine thrashed the "latest and greatest".

If it's the ChessBase Rybka4 GUI, you can't restart the match. But, as PP said, you can just run another match for the balance of the games. And be sure to turn pondering ("Permanent brain") off, make sure both engines have access to the tablebases (if you have them), and don't screw around with the engine options - leave them at their defaults.
