So i have done some more research and there seems to be 2 schools of thought. The first says that intel is better than amd so just buy the best intel cpu you can afford and the second says that what really matters is core count so the ryzen would win here. if somebody knows how stockfish works and could let me know which factor is more important i would really appreciate it.
Ryzen 9 3900 or Intel Core i7-9700K?

When choosing a Ryzen 9 3900X CPU (AMD) please keep in mind that Carey Holzman (Computer technician) wrote on YouTube: The importance of AMD chipset drivers that require manual installation and manual updating! (See video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-QfAodYNzI )
There are Benchmarks out for Stockfish as well as Lc0 (they seem to be a little old however that's how they're benchmarked):
Stockfish: https://sites.google.com/site/computerschess/stockfish-chess-benchmarks
Lc0: https://lc0bench.netlify.app/bench-result.html#
I once again cite Carey Holzman: "It's your choice. Nobody but you can decide how to spend your money for a new computer!"
More research reveals that there are two schools of thought. The first claims that intel is superior to AMD and that you should buy the best intel cpu you can afford, while the second claims that core count is the most important factor and that the ryzen would win in this case. I'd appreciate it if someone who knows how stockfish works could tell me which factor is more important. best motherboards for video editing

More cores allows more threads to run. Faster clock speed will get deeper into the position on the threads being run. My guess is that either are going to perform well for Stockfish and the results won't likely be drastic enough to matter much in the vast majority of positions.
I am looking at a new computer build and would like some advice on which processor everybody thinks would run stockfish better. I have 2 systems in mind that are basically the same except for the processor (and motherboard) and cost near enough the same so really could do with a bit of help with which way to go. Thanks in advance for any help.
