you could get one of your friends and start a daily chess game with him/her and tell them what to do and because the game is daily you can pick it up at your own pace. when you progress through the moves and when you leave it work out how long it takes between leaving it and picking it back up so you can set the time right for example if it's 3 days put it at around a 5 day game if it's long go for a 14 day game.
Saving a game

gingerninja2003, yes I can pick up a daily game anytime at the spot where I left off. But my question is for saving a game setup from a book, like a famous grandmaster game. How do I save and pick that up?

play out the grandmaster game with your friend and tell him what moves to make for example if the first three moves of the game are 1.d4 tell your friend to play 1...Nf6 2.c4 tell your friend to play 2...g6 3.Nc3 tell your friend to play. 3...Bg7

So far, these answers do not help. I cannot buy a chessboard for each master game I review. I need to be able to save the analysis board for each game, so I can come back to that game. There should be a way to save the game, such as a pgn or other document, that will allow me to preserve the game at the point where I leave off.

Hi,
Enter explorer mode. In "learn"
Enter all moves.
Enter analysis mode and then download game.
thanks

why harry does not understand? z@< (hic bahar geldi durnalar geldi tekki sen gelup cikmazsin orda kalirsan?)

chipstalk, yes that is what I am looking for. And I have setup the game in analysis mode. But I do not see an option for downloading the game. Can you tell me where that is?
Gingerninja, where is the FEN? Please explain how I find and copy that. Where do I paste it?
Sorry, I am new to the analysis mode and have not been able to figure these things out. Thanks.

Hi,
Ok. In analysis mode the download button is on the right at the bottom underneath the forward and backward arrows.. it looks like an arrow going down into a tray.
thanks

press explorer and press the share symbol and a box will pop up with the position then press the download symbol and the FEN should be there. there are other ways but this is one way.

Thank you both very much. These last two answers work for me. It is a big advantage to be able to load games into chess.com from books. It makes it easier to learn.

Enter a book/OTB game into the analysis board. Then click the "Add to Library" button to add the game to your personal library.

The guy who asked the question 5 years ago is surely happy now.
I am following a grandmaster game from a book. As I progress through the moves, I would like to save the game and pick it up at a later date. What is the best way to view the game and save it on chess.com?
