SCIP vs PC and .si4 files

Hey,

I can't open .si4 files with scid. Did you know why ? thanks.

idk. Do you also have the .sg4 and .sn4 files to go with the .si4 file?

Not sure - a wild guess would be a file/folder permissions issue. I left Windows behind; I'm in Linux now, so I probably can't help with any specifics.

How exactly are you trying to open them? Can you launch the program and open the file from the Open database dialog?

My english is not very well.

I downloaded a database and when i click on the database (the file in .si4 not others)  a message say "error opening: scid vs pc can't open the file".

I try to open the file from scid so i open scid and i import the files .si4 but they are the same message :/ 

i found another error message: True type fonts (PGN figurines) disabled.

Is this a new install?

Can you open the Scid databases that are included in the install?

I would try uninstalling, then reinstalling Scid vs. PC into a new folder that you created.

If youre using windows or mac, you have to manually install the ttf fonts in the font directory by double clicking on them.

oh i find the problem thanks, the files .sg4 and .sn4 were not good so i redownload a new version of the data base and it's work. thanks you, have a good day
