Does anyone have a blog, an article, a forum posting, a website - anything personal they are particularly proud of or which they think may benefit others?

If so,  post a link here.

If you want, write whatever you want to entice others to click your link.

Also, if you belong to a group and want to enlist members, link to it and tell us why we should join. Doing this in random forum threads may be construed as advertising and deleted but it's open season on this thread- take your best shot.

(remember:  no advertising competitor sites).

I post about how to play against 1.d4 with the QGD. Mostly for new players.

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/why-do-i-lose-when-someone-plays-d4?page=2

I analyze a game. I think in particular the tip I give about endgames is useful and not widely known. For more experienced players.

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/chess-is-so-freagin-hard?page=2

I give an example of how I analyze to find the best of bad choices (trying to defend an objectively worse position). For anyone above beginner probably.

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/position-for-analysis-black-to-move

I give both tips and examples for when to capture, or retreat, and where to retreat, when your bishop is pinning a knight. For any level of player who is curious.

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-openings/when-do-i-capture

I give two main systems to play against the london. One classical (with d5) and one hypermodern. Any level is fine, mostly for people who don't know the usual ways.

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/how-to-crush-london-system?page=2

I give lots of unrelated tips. Maybe a dozen. For middlegame, endgame, individual pieces, how to think when choosing between moves, etc. Mostly for non-beginners, but some are simple enough for any level.

Oh, and I was happy with this invention (with help of engine of course). A way to play against someone when you know they're going to do the lion.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling....

FWIW I know @ziryab has a good blog.

But chess.com forum isn't exactly overflowing with helpful contributors, so while the topic itself is good, I'm not sure how many responses it will generate.

You could probably name them on 1 or 2 hands only.

Other than that doesn't chess.com feature top blogs or something?

I have a couple of blogs on this site:

An introduction to composed chess problems

Stockfish and a forced-mate problem it cannot solve

MitSud
https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/a-history-of-2Q

Not sure this counts as something particularly beneficial to other, but I had fun writing it, and it’s pretty funny, everyone who remembers 2QIC should like it.

wow, thanks for this thread!

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/fun-with-chess/worst-excuses-for-losing- the biggest active "fun with chess" thread, and one of the biggest active thread of any kind (except for off topic, they have a lot of spam threads)!

https://www.chess.com/club/worst-chess-players-ever-club-nothing special, just a club, but here you have an excuse for losing any chess game, and if you win, that's even more embarrassing for your opponents! (you are one of the worst chess players)

That's a little bit different.

Forum posts and blogs are one thing, what you do is more like preparation to write and publish a book.

Maybe there should be a batgirl book tongue.png

I was kindly informed that my link to simaginfan doesn't work. Here is the proper link:

I’m a Top Blogger with 40+ posts, but I’m not sure which ones I’m the most proud of.

I manage Blogosphere, Chess.com’s biggest group for bloggers and blog fans. We run really high-quality VC, with as much discussion as any of the top teams I’ve played on, but that’s not even the highlight. We feature 38 bloggers and 7 Top Bloggers, and maintain several unique features such as a Blogger of the Month award, a Monthly Top 5 which all members can vote on, a newsletter called Blogosphere Monthly News and forum threads such as Reader’s Choice, New Posts and Bloggers in This Group along with Blogosphere Portals and a Blog Index by topic.

Everything is there to ensure the best possible space for bloggers and blog fans to communicate, collaborate and accomplish more together than they ever could alone.

RoobieRoo

I don't particularly feel proud of any to be honest, the reward is in the creative process itself.

I recommend Milliern

He writes very well and has a lot of profound ideas about the subject of chess improvement for late starters.
