Short games to show children?
e4 e5
Nf3 Nf6
Nxe5 Nxe4?
Qe2 Nf6?? ( because of Qe7, Qxe4, Qxe5, Qxe5+ )
Nc6! and black loses the Queen.

I show a lot of miniatures to elementary age children who range from those who are still learning how the knight moves to those who have won trophies at state level competition. I highly recommend Encyclopedia of Chess Miniatures (2015), The 1000 Best Short Games of Chess (1955) and Modern Chess Miniatures (1960). Naturally, I often use Legall's classic game, which you can find in most databases. My favorite miniature is Taylor -- N.N. London 1862. It is among the first five games in Chernev's book.

As the title says. I teach chess to first graders and was wondering if anyone knew of any games that could be very instructive, but also short so the kids don't lose focus.
