Shredder chess online (hard mode)

What?
The free engine hard mode on www.shredderchess.com is 3000? It states that "Please note that even on “hard” Shredder doesn’t show his full capabilities. He is trying to provide an equal opponent for a human player on those levels."
3000 would be well over any human player. I thought it might have been around 2100-2200.

I don't agree with levels on games being "easy", "medium" and "hard". Those three words are totally different strengths depending on who is playing against it. Something I might find hard, Magnus Carlsen would find easy.
I am not sure what elo strength the engine is playing at on "hard", but I do know that Shredder is a very powerful engine and can exceed 3000 elo on it's maximum level.

I see. Does anyone here have a game of them beating or drawing the free shredder online engine in hard mode?

I have a buddy who beats that thing all the time. He is a very good chess player, and estimates that thing at 1800 or so. The online version does not have an extensive opening book or shredderbases, so it's quite easy to get the upper hand if you are an experienced player. :)

Deep Shredder's rating is 2855, (estimated based on computer tournaments, and 160 points below Rybka, the #1 computer) but this has no real bearing on the online version.
I drew shredder on hard mode my first try. I'm only about 1400, so I'm guessing shredder on hard mode is no better than 1600

Well yeah, this would apply to any type of game's difficulty setting. They're based on averages since everything is relative.

I emailed them yesterday, and they kindly replied me :
- Easy = 1.000
- Medium = 1.600
- Hard = 2.200
I really love to play against Shredder Online, I've never won any game at the hard level, sometimes I win or draw at medium. So... I have a very very long way to go heh

Is there a difference in elo between the hard mode on the free Google app Shredder and the hard mode on the free version on Shredder's website? Maybe I will hold a match to see.

I played a game between the Goggle app version and the online version on the website both on hard and they drew. Black was up a pawn with more active pieces, yet Black went for a draw by repetition.

NOTE: There's a difference when shredder plays as white or black. My friend's chess app versed Shredder on Hard and beat him when Shredder was black. But the opposite happened when Shredder played as white. Shredder as "white" is way stronger thana Shredder as "black". I was sort of confused. I beat shredder on Medium, but on hard it annihilates me no matter how much time I take. I'm about 1700 of rating, and I say there's a huge difference between hard and medium... not much in between easy and medium, although on easy it lets you checkmate him so easily... But still...

Even though the people behind Shredder online say it is about 2200, I don't really believe it. I have beaten it on hard mode as white, but as black, I now have a drawish position. I used to be a fairly good player, but not good enough to beat a 2200 without too much trouble (my game with white against it was not that difficult, though it took me a long time to calculate). I think it is a strong 2000 player considering that it gives you chances to draw and come back from bad situations.

Maybe the Shredder e-mail meant that hard mode is set to 2200. That doesn't necessarily mean that it plays at 2200 strength.
Notice that no clock is used in these games with Shredder online. It moves almost instantly, and I doubt that it thinks on its opponent's time. If Shredder online uses almost no time, and if the human players are using significant amounts of time, then Shredder is probably spotting its opponent hundreds of rating points.
