Silman wrote his books and workbooks after trying out various methods of instruction with hundreds of students.
The "How to Reassess Your Chess, 4th Edition" was published in 2010. The first edition came more than twenty years earlier.
The "How to Reassess Your Chess Workbook" was published in 2001. It does not appear to have been revised.
The intro to the 4th edition talks about the various improvements that have been made over the years and how computer analysis allowed them to double check their calculations for the first time.
I would think that the "How to Reassess Your Chess, 4th Edition" is likely to be more up to date that the workbook.
Hello, I have a dilema. In his workbook, Silman gives the foundation for all the imbalances. Im thinking to first read all the explanation of the workbook, and then after getting the basics of all the imbalances exploring deeper in his full book and doing the puzzles in the workbook. So what im thinking about is:
1) reading the explanations in the workbook
2) Reading the full book + do puzzles from the workbook
Can someone tell me if im wrong or not?
