Simple Arena question

This should be simple (I think). I downloaded Arena and played a game with Rybka. However, I cannot now figure out how to go back to the human vs. human mode. When I go to the Game Data menu, both players are set to "human" already, yet I can only make a move for white, black is still apparently set to Rybka. I played around for 20 minutes yet still can't find how to go back to the human vs human mode. Please help!

An additional question - is there a way to take back a move (or several moves) and continue the game?

Human vs human play is not available in ARENA as far as I can tell. I tried it myself in the game data menu and it defaults back to me vs rybka.

Perhaps if you deleted the rybka engine.

As far as taking bck moves, just HIT the little left facing triangle on the MOVELIST tab. It will take back as many moves as you WANT and you can just pick up from that point.

@anathem. Arena isn't a game, it's a gui for chess engines.

@OP... there are no simple Arena questions. Arena is messy and not for the general user IMHO. Get an older version of Fritz, you can do this for under 20 dollars. The Fritz Gui will do everything you want Arena to do including running free UCI engines like fire and stockfish.

Man, I hate Arena, just tried setting up a Human vs Human game so I can enter moves at my leisure while engine analyzes in the background, still no go... Fritz 5.32 could do it 20 years ago!

Go to File -> Network Game

Uncheck the "Computer plays" box.
